President Nazarbayev ratifies agreement on strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Turkey

Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree to ratify the agreement on strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Turkey. The agreement seeks to boost cooperation in political, economic, scientific, humanitarian and other realms. Besides, the agreement expands region-scale cooperation with regards to non-proliferation, counter-terrorism, efforts to tackle drugs and arms trafficking and trafficking in people. The agreement is of prime importance to promote Kazakhstan’s interests towards South East Europe and Middle East. The agreement on strategic partnership between the two nations was signed in Ankara October 22, 2009.
