Precipitation, fog, and icy conditions: storm warning issued for Astana and 14 regions

Tengrinews.kz – On December 4, forecasters predict rain and snow in several regions of Kazakhstan. A storm warning has been issued for Astana and the regions due to fog, icy conditions, and blizzards, according to Kazhydromet.

Astana — occasional fog and icy conditions expected.

Mangystau Region — fog expected at night and in the morning in the northwest and central parts of the region.

Atyrau Region — fog expected at night and in the morning in the north, west, and south of the region.

Abai Region — during the day in the west, north, and east of the region, precipitation (rain, snow), blowing snow, and icy conditions expected. At night and in the morning, fog expected in the west and north. In Semey, icy conditions expected during the day.

Akmola Region — at night snow expected, during the day precipitation (rain, snow). In the north and east of the region, blowing snow expected. In the west, south, and east, fog and icy conditions expected. Western winds with gusts of 15–20 m/s in the north and east. In Kokshetau, occasional snow and blowing snow expected. Western wind gusts 15–20 m/s during the day.

Aktobe Region — fog expected in the west, east, and south of the region.

East Kazakhstan Region — icy conditions expected during the day in the west, north, and east of the region. At night and in the morning, fog expected in the north and south. In Ust-Kamenogorsk, icy conditions expected during the day.

Turkestan Region — fog expected in the north, south, and mountainous areas. Southwest wind turning northwest, with gusts of 15–20 m/s in the mountains during the day.

West Kazakhstan Region — fog expected in the west, north, and east. In Uralsk, fog expected.

Kyzylorda Region — icy conditions expected in the south during the day. Fog expected in the north and central parts of the region. In Kyzylorda, occasional fog expected.

North Kazakhstan Region — precipitation (rain, snow), icy conditions, and blowing snow expected. Fog expected in the west and north. Western wind gusts of 15–20 m/s at night in the north, east, and south, and 15–20 m/s during the day, up to 23 m/s in the south. In Petropavlovsk, precipitation (rain, snow), icy conditions, and blowing snow expected. Western wind gusts of 15–20 m/s during the day.

Kostanay Region — at night and in the morning, icy conditions expected in the north and east. Fog expected in the west, north, and east. In Kostanay, fog expected.

Ulytau Region — fog expected in the north, east, and central parts. In Zhezkazgan, fog expected.

Karaganda Region — at night in the west, north, and east: snow, blowing snow, icy conditions. During the day in the north and east: icy conditions. Fog expected in the north, east, and south. Southwest and west winds with gusts of 15–18 m/s in the north and east. In Karaganda at night: snow, blowing snow, icy conditions, and fog.
