Precipitation and ice: storm warning issued in 10 regions

Tengrinews.kz – On November 4, forecasters issued a storm warning for 10 regions of Kazakhstan due to heavy precipitation and a sharp drop in temperature, according to Kazhydromet.

Shymkent – Periods of heavy precipitation (rain and snow) and fog are expected. Winds will be west and northwest at 15–20 m/s. Daytime temperatures will sharply drop to +3…+5°C.

North Kazakhstan Region – Northern winds at 15–20 m/s, with gusts up to 23 m/s overnight in the east and south. Roads may become icy. In Petropavl, northern winds of 15–20 m/s are expected.

Zhetysu Region – In the daytime, heavy rain and snow are expected in the mountain areas. Western winds in the north and east will gust up to 17–22 m/s.

Kyzylorda Region – Northwest winds in the north and central areas at 15–20 m/s. An extreme fire hazard remains in place, with a high fire risk in northern and central districts. In Kyzylorda, fire danger remains high.

Zhambyl Region – Fog is expected in the south and mountainous areas. Southwest winds shifting to northwest will reach 15–20 m/s, with gusts up to 25 m/s in some areas. An extreme fire hazard persists in the north, and high fire danger in central, western, and eastern parts. In Taraz, fog is expected with winds up to 15–20 m/s.

Atyrau Region – Fog is expected overnight and in the morning in the western and eastern parts of the region.

Karaganda Region – Snow, blowing snow, and icy conditions are expected.

West Kazakhstan Region – Fog is expected overnight and in the morning in the western, northern, and eastern parts. In Uralsk, fog is also expected during the night and morning hours.

Akmola Region – Heavy snow is expected overnight in the south and east. In Kokshetau, icy conditions and blowing snow are expected at night and in the morning, with northern winds up to 15–20 m/s.

Aktobe Region – Fog is expected overnight and in the morning in the northern areas.

Almaty Region – Heavy precipitation (rain and snow) is expected in the mountain areas during the day. Overnight and in the morning, fog is forecast in the southern and mountainous parts. Northwest winds in the north and south will reach 15–20 m/s. In Konayev, northwest winds will gust up to 15–20 m/s.

Turkestan Region – Periods of heavy rain and snow with fog are expected in the south and mountain areas. West and northwest winds will reach 15–20 m/s in northern, southern, and mountainous areas. A sharp drop in daytime temperatures is expected to +3…+8°C, and around 0°C in the north and mountains. In Turkestan, fog is expected, with west and northwest winds gusting up to 15–20 m/s and daytime temperatures dropping to +3…+5°C.
