Powerful dust devil caught on video in Mangystau

Tengrinews.kz — Residents of Kazakhstan’s Mangystau Region have shared striking footage online of a dust devil sweeping across the steppe.

The video shows a towering column of dust moving rapidly across the landscape, swirling sand and fine soil particles into the air.

According to Lada.kz, meteorologists explained that dust devils in the Mangystau Region typically form during hot weather with little cloud cover, when the ground becomes intensely heated. Sharp temperature differences create rotating air currents that lift dust and sand into the atmosphere.
