According to the PM Massimov’s blog, today, on his official visit to France Kazakhstan’s PM Karim Massimov met his French counterpart François Fillon to discuss prospects of the bilateral economic cooperation. Following the talks, the two sides signed a number of bilateral documents. Notably, the two governments signed an agreement on peaceful use of nuclear power. The Kazakhstan’s Transport Ministry and the French Agency for Civil Aviation have signed an MoU on launching a direct flight to link Astana to Paris. Kazakhstan Engineering National Company, EADS-Eurocopter and Eurocopter-Kazakhstan Engineering JV have signed an agreement to cooperate within a program to produce EC-145 helicopters in the territory of Kazakhstan and an agreement on distribution and maintenance of helicopters and on establishing a professional training facility in Kazakhstan. Besides, KazAtomProm and Areva signed a memorandum of cooperation on alternative energy sources. France and Kazakhstan had signed contracts worth two billion euros during a Paris visit of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in October 2010.
