PM Massimov meets WIEF Chairman Tun Musa Hitam

Kazakhstan PM Karim Massimov met World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Chairman Tun Musa Hitam, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the Government’s Press Service. According to the Press Service, the sides dwelt on a wide range of issues with regards to Kazakhstan’s forthcoming chairmanship of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the 7th World Islamic Economic Forum to be held in Astana. According to the Ministry of Industry and new Technology, 30 incumbent and ex heads of state are expected to attend the event, as well as heads of international organizations, businessmen, experts and public figures. Kazakhstan will be the first nation of Central Asia to host a World Islamic Economic Forum. World Islamic Economic Forum is headquartered in Malaysia. Formerly known as the OIC Business Forum, the Forum was renamed to reflect the inclusion of Muslim business communities in other parts of the world and also to include the participation of the non-Muslim business community interested to establish good business relationships with the Muslim world.
