Journalist of Tengrinews.kz found the places photographed by one of Tselinograd's first foreign tourists in 1978. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English published the photos made by American Lawrence Sherwin. The photos happened in the hands of a Kazakhstan blogger Sabina Sadenova. According to Sabina, 33 years ago Sherwin came to KazSSR (Kazakh Soviet Socialistic Republic) as part of a delegation from the USA. As seen from the pictures, bronze Abai monument replaced bronze Lenin at the crossing of Abai and Beibitshilik streets. The empty area where Tselinograd citizens used to sell potatoes is currently occupied with the “Old Bazar”.
