Tengrinews.kz - Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin commented on a new petition launched by Kazakh citizens to return to the previous time zone.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that this issue did not require public discussion.
"There is a decision-making regulation, and the government is not obliged to hold a referendum every time. In this case, necessary research was conducted before making the decision, and the decision was made. After that, the petition was considered in accordance with the established procedure, and all arguments for and against were evaluated," Zhumangarin said at a government meeting.
According to him, the final decision has been made.
"Let's study this matter not in the short term but in the medium term to see if it has any impact. The government does not intend to raise this issue or comment on it again. If we keep deviating from the regulations... there was a decision, there was a petition, the petition was considered, and the decision was confirmed. I think we should stop here," concluded the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Specialized Interdistrict Administrative Court in Astana issued a decision on the lawsuit challenging the legality of the results of the petition review regarding the clock change in Kazakhstan.
Earlier, a deputy criticized the time change in Kazakhstan.
