Tengrinews.kz – Peter Foster will step down as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Air Astana at the end of March 2026, the airline’s press service announced.
It is noted that Foster will continue to work with the airline group as a Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors.
The Board expressed its gratitude to Foster “for his outstanding achievements and leadership of the company over the past 20 years.”
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Janlyel, the current Chief Financial Officer, will be appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer.
According to the statement, Janlyel has worked with the Air Astana Group since 2003, initially holding leadership positions in commercial divisions and later serving as CFO since 2017.
For reference, the Air Astana Group is one of the largest airline groups in Central Asia and the Caucasus in terms of revenue and fleet size. The group operates 61 aircraft, shared between Air Astana (founded in 2002) and its low-cost carrier FlyArystan (launched in 2019).
