Over 20 thousand people chose to become Kazakh citizens

Over 20 thousand people have chosen to become Kazakhstan citizens, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President's press-service. A meeting of the presidential Commission on Citizenship was held on June 16 under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan's Secretary General Kanat Saudabayev. The meeting participants reviewed applications of the people willing to get Kazakhstan citizenship. Over 23 thousand people arriving from CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) and far abroad will become Kazakh citizens after Kazakhstan President signs respective decrees. “Constantly increasing number of people from other countries who are willing to become citizens of Kazakhstan on the year of Kazakhstan's 20th anniversary is another convincing evidence of international acknowledgement of social-economic and socio-political achievements of Kazakhstan under the presidency of Nursultan Nazarbayev. We are happy to welcome our new citizens before the holiday, Kazakhstan Capital's Day, and wish them health, well-being and successful work for the benefit of their new Motherland. Now it is the task of the respective state authorities to quickly and responsibly provide for their fast adaptation in the country,” the press-service cited the commission's chairman. The overall number of Kazakhstan's new citizens during 20 years of its independence makes 700 thousand people.
