Tengrinews.kz – As of 1 January 2026, the amount of the Monthly Calculation Index (MCI) in Kazakhstan has changed — it is now 4,325 tenge. Along with this, entrance fees to the country’s national parks have also been updated. Tengrinews.kz looked into how much a trip to the most popular national parks costs today.
Why prices have changed
According to the Committee of Forestry and Wildlife, the current tariffs were approved by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources back on 2 October 2024. All paid services in national parks are calculated in MCI, and each park has its own tariff grid depending on the category of visitors and type of transport.
As the agency explained, the funds are used for infrastructure improvements, garbage collection and maintenance of eco-trails.

How to pay
In many national parks, entrance and vehicle fees can already be paid online, as well as at on-site checkpoints. In addition, visitors have access to extra paid services such as guided tours, equipment rental, camping areas and eco-trails.
What happens if you do not pay
It is not worth ignoring payment — this is stipulated in the law. Previously, the administration of the Ile-Alatau National Park explained that being on the territory of the park without paying the fee is a violation.
If you deliberately avoid paying or ignore the rules, it may end not just with a warning from park staff. Article 381 of Kazakhstan’s Code of Administrative Offences provides for real measures: a warning or a fine starting from 5 MCI (21,625 tenge) and higher, depending on the nature of the violation.
