Tengrinews.kz – The head of OPEC plans to visit the capital of Kazakhstan.
OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais will participate as a speaker at one of the forums organized by the Kazenergy Association in Astana.
According to a post on Instagram, the event is scheduled to take place from October 2 to 4, 2025.
As a reminder, earlier eight OPEC+ countries — including Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, the UAE, Kuwait, Algeria, and Oman — announced they would begin gradually increasing oil production by 411,000 barrels per day starting in July 2025. The decision is based on stable economic prospects and low oil inventories. The countries reaffirmed a flexible approach: the production increase may be paused or canceled if necessary.
