The number of Internet users in Kazakhstan has exceeded 5 million people (34% of the country’s population), Profinance.kz reports , citing the Ministry of Communications. Over 58 000 domain names have been registered in the Kazakhstan’s segment of the worldwide web. The annual growth of the figure stands at 20-25%. Karaganda oblast with 108 600 Internet users is the absolute leader. Astana and Almaty make up together a total of 348 500 Internet users, with 93 600 of them being based in Astana. Kyzylorda oblast with its 19 800 users is lagging behind.
