Tengrinews.kz - Two drug trafficking groups suspected of transporting and distributing large quantities of drugs have been detained in the Zhambyl region, according to the committee's press service.
In October of this year, the National Security Committee (NSC) Department in Zhambyl region, with the coordination of the prosecutor’s office, suppressed the activities of two drug trafficking groups whose members are suspected of transporting and distributing drugs in especially large quantities.
"In the Ryskulov and Merke districts, two Kazakh citizens were detained and taken into custody by court order while attempting to sell over 14 kilograms of hashish and 42 kilograms of marijuana. A pre-trial investigation is underway," the statement said.

Earlier, NSC Department of Almaty region, in coordination with the prosecutor's office, has shut down an underground laboratory producing synthetic drugs.
