On November 8, the NSC department in Almaty, coordinated by the prosecutor's office, shut down an underground lab producing synthetic drugs.

"A Kazakh citizen was detained while manufacturing psychotropic substances and has been taken into custody with court approval. During the search, authorities seized over 7 kilograms of ready-made and 30 liters of liquid psychotropic substance, 'mephedrone,' along with lab equipment and precursors used for drug production," the statement reads.
A pre-trial investigation is underway under part 3 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan. Further information is not disclosed, following part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Previously, on November 7, the NSC, in coordination with the Almaty Region prosecutor's office and local police, conducted arrests in Almaty, the Almaty Region, and Ulytau Region. Five Kazakh citizens were detained on suspicion of organizing religious extremist activities. Additionally, 17 individuals have been restricted from leaving the country due to suspected involvement in a banned organization.
