Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the Kazakhstan-Chinese Business Council in Beijing, where he presented Kazakhstan’s investment potential, citing Akorda.
During his speech, Tokayev said that in-depth talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping focused on cooperation in the nuclear sector, including plans to attract Chinese technologies and train qualified specialists.
“We agreed that our two countries should become strategic partners in this field. We intend to involve China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) in this work, and today I will meet with its leadership. I would also like to note the active presence of SANY Group in our market and thank these companies for their cooperation. The development of traditional energy sources remains a key element in ensuring our country’s energy security. We believe that all joint projects in the energy sector will further strengthen our mutually beneficial cooperation,” the President stressed.
China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) is the largest state-owned enterprise in China’s nuclear power and technology sector. The corporation is engaged in uranium exploration and mining, fuel production, nuclear power plant construction and operation both in China and abroad, reactor and equipment development, as well as waste disposal. It reports directly to China’s State Council and is headquartered in Beijing.
