Tengrinews.kz - Meteorologists have released a forecast for weather conditions in Kazakhstan from December 31, 2024, to January 2, 2025.
According to the forecast, most of Kazakhstan will experience unstable weather due to a cyclone from the Scandinavian Peninsula. Snow and blizzards are expected in the northwest, north, center, and east of the country, with strong gusty winds predicted on January 1-2. The west, southwest, south, and southeast regions may see mixed precipitation (rain and snow) and icy conditions.
Heavy precipitation (rain and snow) is forecast for the mountainous areas in the south and southeast on December 31. Fog and increased winds are expected across Kazakhstan.
"Temperatures will rise across most of the country. At night, western regions will see temperatures ranging from -5°C to +5°C, and daytime temperatures from -3°C to +10°C. In the northwest, north, center, and east, nighttime temperatures will range from -2°C to -13°C, while daytime temperatures will range from -7°C to +2°C. In the east, temperatures will stay between 0°C and -8°C both day and night. No significant temperature changes are expected in the southern and southeastern regions," the report states.
Forecasters clarified the weather forecast for winter 2024/2025 in Kazakhstan. It is noted that in general, the winter temperature regime is expected to be within the climatic norm with precipitation exceeding the long-term norm. However, periods with cessation of precipitation and abnormally low air temperatures are not excluded.
