Tengrinews.kz - A new reservoir will be constructed on the Kargyba River in the Aksuat district of the Abai region, with work scheduled to begin in 2026, citing 24KZ.
Currently, project design and cost estimate documentation for the construction is being developed.
To ensure the project is carried out on time and with high quality, a commission consisting of specialists from the local branch of RSE “Kazvodkhoz”, employees of the Aksuat district akimat (local government administration), and representatives of the contractor conducted an inspection of the planned construction sites.
“During the inspection, all parties discussed the project in detail and put forward their proposals. Together with the district akimat, we examined the internal canals. Local executive bodies will be responsible for preparing the design and cost estimate documentation for their reconstruction. The new reservoir and main canals will ensure the full and efficient operation of the district’s irrigation systems,” said Zharkynbek Baisabyrov, director of the Abai region branch of RSE “Kazvodkhoz.”
In April 2025, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation announced that several new reservoirs would be built in Kazakhstan.
