Today marks the beginning of a new era in the history of sovereign Kazakhstan. We are embarking on a major path of steady progress, political and economic reforms, and large-scale modernization.

This day signifies a fundamental restructuring of the political system and the transformation of key state and civil society institutions.

At the nationwide referendum held on March 15, the people of Kazakhstan made a momentous choice that determined the country's course of development for decades to come. This historic decision will forever remain in our nation's chronicles as a vivid example of genuine patriotism and the high civic responsibility demonstrated by millions of our fellow citizens.

It is deeply symbolic that Constitution Day is now inseparably linked with the beginning of the Nauryznama decade. This landmark date harmoniously combines the centuries-old traditions of spring renewal with the fundamental principles of the new Basic Law—the pursuit of civic solidarity, advanced knowledge, and conscientious work for the benefit of the Motherland.

I am confident that, relying on the unshakable legal foundation of this truly national Constitution, we will achieve all of our goals and firmly establish in society the constructive values of Law and Order, Diligence and Progress, and Cleanliness and Respect for Nature.

United as an unbreakable force of national unity, we will undoubtedly reach the heights of global civilization and build a Just Kazakhstan—a state of equal opportunities and comprehensive development for every citizen without exception.

I am confident in the ultimate success of our plans, which will lead our Motherland to prosperity.

Long live the Republic of Kazakhstan!

Long live our people!

As previously reported, the new Constitution officially entered into force today, July 1, 2026, bringing the current Parliament's powers to an end. Elections to the new unicameral Kurultai are scheduled for August 2026, along with the adoption of a new Concept of Legal Policy and the alignment of all legislation with the updated Basic Law.
