Tengrinews.kz - The National Vocabulary Fund of the Kazakh language is planned to be created in Kazakhstan. The corresponding project was prepared by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

As stated in the document, the National Vocabulary Fund will be formed on the basis of academic and translation dictionaries, the National Corpus of the Kazakh language, a terminology base, and data sets, including a set of data in various formats.

"An important aspect of the project is that the National Vocabulary Fund of the Kazakh language will become a publicly available state information system, which will allow it to be used as effectively as possible for educational and scientific purposes, as well as for the development of technologies for processing the Kazakh language," the document states.

The following basic concepts are used in these rules:

  • generation – the process of automatically creating new content (text, images, sound) based on data and pre-established rules;
  • artificial intelligence (AI) models – the process of implementing AI technologies and algorithms for processing data in the Kazakh language into various systems, applications or platforms;
  • natural language processing – machine learning technology that enables computers to interpret, manipulate and understand human language.

The objectives of the formation of the National Vocabulary Fund:

  • preservation, protection and development of the Kazakh language as a cultural value;
  • strengthening the status of the state language;
  • accumulation of resources covering all areas of application of the Kazakh language;
  • streamlining, digitalization and generation of the current lexical composition of the language;
  • adaptation of the Kazakh language to artificial intelligence and modern technologies;
  • automation of language data processing processes.

The project is posted on the Open legalacts portal for public discussion until March 19, 2025.

Earlier, the department of digitalization and public services of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education announced that tasks for the Unified National Test (UNT) are planned to be developed using AI in Kazakhstan.
