Tengrinews.kz - A human face carved in stone has been found in the Akmola region. Scientists are still unsure which historical period the artifact belongs to.

The historical find was stumbled upon by employees of the Sandyktau District Emergency Situations Department during the "Orman" preventive measure. The discovery was reported to the local history museum, and subsequently, scientists from Astana and their foreign colleagues were informed.

Scientists are currently uncertain about the artifact's epoch. Some suggest it dates back to the Bronze Age, while others attribute it to the later Turkic period.

The remarkable find was made by Nursultan Ashkenov and Akhmet Zaripov, firefighters from Station No. 17 in the Sandyktau District.

"To find such a significant artifact while conducting our primary activities is to combine the pleasant with the useful, as they say. I am very happy, of course. At the same time, I think not only our district but our entire republic is proud of this," shared Asset Zhankozhin, head of the Emergency Department.
