Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded Kazakhstanis about the responsibility for a false report of an act of terrorism, according to Polisia.kz.
In 2024, the internal affairs agencies registered 247 criminal cases for knowingly false reports of explosive devices installed at various sites. For committing facts of “false terrorism”, 48 suspects were detained, of which 15 were minors. To date, 13 people have been sentenced to criminal punishment, including one teenager.
"If the sender of false messages has not reached the age of criminal responsibility, his parents are subject to administrative liability for failure to take measures to raise children. Last year, such measures were taken against 6 adults.
In addition, by court decision, a claim is filed against the criminal for damages caused to the owner of the object of encroachment or the state due to the false call. The amount of damage can reach two million tenge.
For a knowingly false message about an impending act of terrorism, a fine of 5 thousand monthly calculation indices is provided, as well as restriction or imprisonment for 5 years," said Azamat Khasenov, senior detective for especially important cases of the Department for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs addressed Kazakhstanis who are abroad. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, thousands of citizens are abroad for study or work. They create Telegram and WhatsApp chats for compatriots, where they exchange information and help each other. Fraudsters can take advantage of this.
