Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to jointly attract investors Foreign Minister Erzhan Kazykhanov

Kazkahstan’s Ministry of Industry and New Technology and Ministry of Foreign Affairs should work on a joint plan to attract investments to Kazkahstan, Foreign Minister Erzhan Kazykhanov believes. On Monday, April 26, representatives of the two ministries met to discuss attraction of foreign investments and emhancement of the investment climate in Kazkahstan. “Mr. Kazykhanov stressed that concerted actions [of Kazakhstan’s ministries and other respective public bodies] is of paramount importance (…) in this context, he believes it necessary to work out a joint actions plan to attract foreign investments”, the Foreign Ministry’s statement reads. Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Industry Mr. Asset Issekeshev stressed that it is important to put in place faborable conditions for investors outside extraction sectors. According to Mr. Issekeshev, the potential of the Customs Union of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus should be greater employed when attracting investors. Consequently, respective amendments should be inserted into the investments legislation, Novosti Kazakhstan quoted Mr. Issekeshev as saying.
