Tengrinews.kz - Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva compared the time change in Kazakhstan to the transfer of the capital.
On the sidelines of the Mazhilis, Balayeva was asked how she feels about the fact that Kazakhstan does not move the time back, despite the fact that some citizens do not like the current state of affairs, since in many regions it gets dark too early.
Balayeva said that she is not inclined to comment on the decision of another government agency. However, the minister believes that such decisions "are not made on a whim."
"Let's see - we had disagreements on many issues. Even the capital was moved, the people categorically disagreed. Even 90%. But today we already see that we are proud of the capital, we love our capital, and it has truly become a symbol of independent Kazakhstan. Therefore, there is no need to change the decision all the time and work unsystematically all the time. I see that this issue is being actively discussed, there is a certain resonance, which speaks of its relevance. I think that the authorized body will take this into account," said Aida Balayeva.
The minister assured that she always brings to her colleagues the issues that the population is discussing, what comes to the forefront, and what needs to be paid attention to. At the same time, the topic of changing the time in Kazakhstan, according to Balayeva, has been in the first place in recent days.
Recently, Kazakhstanis "attacked" the Facebook of the initiator of the time zone change - Mazhilis deputy Erkin Abil. The Mazhilis member published a post on social networks in which he once again spoke about maintaining a single time zone in Kazakhstan and "explained obvious things for the last time." However, Kazakhstanis did not support him.
Previously, Erkin Abil spoke in favor of maintaining a single time zone in Kazakhstan. As an argument, the Kostanay representative presented a map showing that all regions of the country fall within the UTC+5 time zone.
