Minimum salary and MCI updated in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz - As of January 1, 2025, the values of key calculation indicators in Kazakhstan, including the minimum wage (MW), monthly calculation index (MCI), and pensions, have been updated.

What is the monthly calculation index (MCI)?

The MCI is used to determine the amounts for benefits, pensions, and social payments.

Additionally, the MCI is essential for:

• Calculating taxes and other mandatory payments;
• Determining the size of fines and other sanctions.

Each year, the size of the MCI is approved by the law on the republican budget.

MCI in 2025 in Kazakhstan

Starting January 1, 2025, the monthly calculation index in Kazakhstan will be 3,932 tenge. Compared to 2024, the MCI increased by 6.1%, or 240 tenge.

Minimum wage and living wage in 2025 in Kazakhstan

In addition to the MCI, the republican budget law sets the minimum wage (MW), the minimum pension, and the living wage for calculating basic social payments.
