Today, March 31, Astana hosted a symposium focused on regulation of labour migration. Trade unions of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan signed bilateral agreements on cooperation to protect labour migrants of all the ethnic origins.
Birzhan Nurymbetov, Vice Minister of Labour, informed that a new migration law is being drafted to introduce new approaches to regulation of labour migration.
“This law will introduce new norms applicable to season workers and labour migrants with irregular status. The list of types of work to attract unskilled migrants will be expanded”, Birzhan Nurymbetov said.
