Tengrinews.kz - Residents of Almaty and Ust-Kamenogorsk have been warned about unfavorable meteorological conditions leading to air pollution.
"Unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in Ust-Kamenogorsk and Almaty on December 18, 2024," the statement read.
These conditions occur due to a combination of short-term meteorological factors, including calm winds, weak air currents, fog, and atmospheric inversions, which contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
Earlier, forecasters clarified the weather forecast for winter 2024/2025 in Kazakhstan. It is noted that in general, the winter temperature regime is expected to be within the climatic norm with precipitation exceeding the long-term norm. However, periods with cessation of precipitation and abnormally low air temperatures are not excluded.
