Tengrinews.kz - On the morning of September 2, the 8th meeting of the Kazakhstan-China Business Council began in Beijing with the participation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and First Vice Premier of China’s State Council, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, Ding Xuexiang, citing Akorda’s press service.
“More than 500 representatives of government bodies and business structures from Kazakhstan and China are taking part in the event, including executives from over 70 of the largest Chinese corporations,” the statement said.

On August 30, Tokayev arrived in China to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. On the same day, he held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
On September 1, the Head of State addressed the SCO summit as well as the “SCO Plus” format. Later that day, Tokayev traveled to Beijing by high-speed train from Tianjin. In the Chinese capital, he was welcomed with an official ceremony.
In addition to taking part in the Kazakhstan-China Business Council meeting, Tokayev will also hold a series of meetings with the heads of major Chinese companies.
