Tengrinews.kz – A lynx cub approached people for help in the Beskaragai district of the Abai region.
The animal was found in the yard of a house in the village of Zhylandy. The cub was alone, without its mother, so local residents and state inspectors of the Zhanasemey branch of the Semey Ormany reserve decided to help. They carefully captured the cub and placed it in a cage to keep it safe. It appears that the cub became separated from its mother, or something may have happened to her in the wild.
After examining the animal, reserve employees decided to contact specialists from environmental protection services. However, despite the call, the specialists were unable to come immediately.
The state inspectors then decided to take the lynx cub to the Biological Center in the city of Semey, where specialists are now caring for it. The staff provided the necessary assistance, veterinarians examined the cub, and the center officially registered it.
The young lynx is currently doing well and gradually adapting to its new environment.

Officials noted that such cases are rare. They reminded the public that if a wild animal is found near a settlement, it is important not to attempt to capture it on your own.
“The incident in the village of Zhylandy once again shows how important it is to maintain a balance between humans and nature. Thanks to the attentiveness and kindness of the local residents and state inspectors of the Semey Ormany reserve, the little lynx got a chance at life and may one day return to the forest,” the statement said.
