Tengrinews.kz – Members of the Maslikhat have approved the official names of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) stations in Astana.
During an extraordinary session of the Astana Maslikhat, deputies considered the issue of assigning names to the city’s LRT stations.
The following names were approved:
- 101 — "Airport";
- 102 - “Atameken”;
- 103 - “Esil”;
- 104 - “Mangilik El”;
- 105 — “Astana Zhuldyzy”;
- 106 — “Nura”;
- 107 — “University”;
- 108 — “Uly Dala”;
- 109 — “Astana Arena”;
- 110 — “Zhekpe-Zhek Saray” (Palace of Martial Arts);
- 111 — “Syganak”;
- 112 — “Baiterek”;
- 113 — "Ministrlik uii" (House of Ministries);
- 114 — "Ulttyk museum" (National Museum);
- 115 — "Theater";
- 116 — "Mynzhyldyk Alley” (Millennium Alley);
- 117 — “Zhibek Zholy” (Silk Road);
- 118 — “Nurly Zhol”.
Back in 2023, it was reported that the Astana LRT would have 18 stations. In June 2025, the capital’s mayor, Zhenis Kassymbek, announced that the first LRT train sets had begun arriving in Astana.
In April, Asylbek Duisebaev, Chairman of the Board of CTS, stated that test operations of the LRT are scheduled for September 2025. This will involve trial runs of the trains without passengers.
