Tengrinews.kz - Lotuses have bloomed on the Kigach-Shora River in the Kurmangazy District of the Atyrau region.

Yasin, who visited the area on July 19, captured stunning footage: the river’s surface covered in pink lotus petals, boats gently gliding between the flowers, and people on a wooden pier filming the rare sight on their phones.

“We reached the lotuses by boat and saw all kinds of animals and birds along the way,” said Yasin.

Cranes, swans, herons, seagulls, and even pelicans can be spotted during the journey.

“One piece of advice: if you're planning a trip, be sure to bring a hat and sunscreen — it gets extremely hot out there,” he added.

Kurmangazy is the only district in Kazakhstan where lotuses bloom in such abundance. The flowering season lasts from mid-July through the last week of August. The valley spans up to 5,000 hectares.

The Lotus Valley is a protected natural area and is listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan.

Earlier, a drone video of a Siberian roe deer roaming through the Almaty Nature Reserve captured the attention of social media users.
