Tengrinews.kz - Four hikers who went missing near the Upper Butakovsky waterfall in the Almaty mountains were rescued on the evening of July 8, according to local emergency services.
The group, consisting of one man and three women, called the 109 rescue service around 8:30 p.m., reporting that they had lost their way. A rescue team from the Muz Tau checkpoint was immediately dispatched.
By 10:00 p.m., rescuers located the hikers. None of them required medical assistance. The group was escorted back to the post and, after a short rest, returned home safely.

In a separate incident on July 10, two women became stranded after ascending Furmanov Peak earlier that morning. They were unable to descend on their own and contacted emergency services at 3:56 p.m.
Rescuers found the women in the “Enthusiasts' Meadow” (also known as Polyana Entuziastov) area at 5:40 p.m. They were unharmed and were helped back down the trail.
Emergency services reminded hikers to avoid going into the mountains alone, to carefully plan their routes, and to return before dark. Officials also advise wearing weather-appropriate and brightly colored clothing, and carrying essentials such as warm clothes, food, a flashlight, power bank, and a first-aid kit. Hikers should inform family members of their planned route and expected return time.
Previously, rescuers helped a tourist descend from Mount Kokshetau.
