Long-awaited coolness will come to Kazakhstan, but not everywhere
Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet forecasters have released the weather outlook for July 14, 15, and 16.
According to data meteorologists, northern regions of Kazakhstan will receive a long-awaited respite from the heat in the coming days, while extremely high temperatures will persist in the south and east.
Rain and thunderstorms to hit northern Kazakhstan
Following a prolonged heatwave, the northern regions will come under the influence of a northwestern cyclone and its associated atmospheric fronts. On July 15-16, rain and thunderstorms are expected, with heavy precipitation, hail, and squally winds forecast in some areas.
At the same time, air temperatures will drop significantly. Forecasters predict daytime highs of 25-30 degrees Celsius.
South to face continued heat up to +45°C
Meanwhile, southern and eastern regions will remain under the influence of dry air masses arriving from Uzbekistan. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 40-45 degrees in the south and 33-38 degrees in the east.
Outlook for July 2026 in Kazakhstan
Kazhydromet forecasters previously noted that July in Kazakhstan is expected to be a month of contrasts: periods of intense heat will alternate with heavy showers, thunderstorms, squall winds, and dust storms. In southern regions, temperatures may reach +45°C on certain days.
