At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, a citizen of Kazakhstan was extradited from the Kyrgyz Republic to face criminal charges for committing large-scale fraud.

In 2023, he allegedly embezzled 75 million tenge in Almaty by promising to supply a businessman with components for ventilation and air conditioning systems. Following the incident, he went into hiding and was placed on an international wanted list.

He was apprehended in Bishkek in May of this year. The suspect is currently in a pre-trial detention center in Almaty. He faces a prison sentence ranging from five to ten years, along with the confiscation of his property.
