Kazhydromet warns residents of Turkestan and Shymkent

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet has published a warning on its official website for residents of Turkestan and Shymkent.

The information concerns the air quality forecast for the upcoming Tuesday.

“On May 5, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in the cities of Turkestan and Shymkent,” the statement said.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions related to air pollution are a combination of short-term meteorological factors, such as calm weather, light wind, fog and temperature inversion, which contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the near-surface layer of the atmosphere.

According to forecasters, partly cloudy weather is expected in Turkestan, with no precipitation. Southeasterly wind is forecast at 3–8 meters per second. Air temperature will be 14–16°C at night and 27–29°C during the day.

In Shymkent, partly cloudy weather is also expected, with no precipitation forecast. Southeasterly wind will reach 3–8 meters per second. Air temperature will be 12–14°C at night and 25–27°C during the day.
