Kazhydromet warns residents of Astana, Almaty, and ten other cities

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet has published a warning on its official website for residents of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, and other cities.

The notice concerns the air quality forecast for the upcoming Tuesday.

“On November 18, 2025, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in the cities of Atyrau, Aktobe, Aktau, Shymkent, Almaty, Astana, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Temirtau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, and Ridder,” the statement said.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions related to air pollution occur when short-term weather factors—such as calm winds, light wind, fog, and temperature inversion—contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the lower layer of the atmosphere.

Earlier, Kazhydromet released the weather forecast for the upcoming winter in Kazakhstan. According to meteorologists, the winter of 2025–2026 is expected to bring “temperature swings,” with thaws alternating with cold spells.
