Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued a warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, and nine other Kazakh cities.

Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued a warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, and nine other Kazakh cities.

"On January 13, 2025, adverse meteorological conditions contributing to air pollution are expected in the cities of Kostanay, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Temirtau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Atyrau, Aktobe, Almaty, and Astana," the statement reads.

Adverse meteorological conditions are a combination of short-term weather factors (calm winds, light winds, fog, inversion) that facilitate the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the lower layers of the atmosphere.

Earlier, meteorologists shared the expected weather conditions for January in Kazakhstan.
