"On December 6, 2024, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Almaty, Shymkent, Atyrau, Aktobe, Pavlodar, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, and Ridder," the message states.
Unfavorable meteorological conditions represent a combination of short-term weather factors (calm, light winds, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the near-ground layer of the atmospheric air.
Earlier, forecasters clarified the weather forecast for winter 2024/2025 in Kazakhstan. It is noted that in general, the winter temperature regime is expected to be within the climatic norm with precipitation exceeding the long-term norm. However, periods with cessation of precipitation and abnormally low air temperatures are not excluded.
