Kazhydromet warns residents of Almaty and Pavlodar

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet has published a warning on its official website for residents of Almaty and Pavlodar.

The notice concerns the air quality forecast for the upcoming Tuesday.

“Unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty and Pavlodar on April 14,” the statement said.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions associated with air pollution are a combination of short-term weather factors such as calm conditions, light wind, fog, and temperature inversion, which contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the surface layer of the atmosphere.

According to meteorologists, Almaty is expected to see partly cloudy weather with no precipitation. Northerly winds will range from 3 to 8 meters per second. Air temperature will be +7 to +9°C at night and +21 to +23°C during the day.

Pavlodar is also expected to have partly cloudy weather with no precipitation. Winds will be variable at 3 to 8 meters per second. Air temperature will be -2 to -4°C at night and +9 to +11°C during the day.
