"Unfavorable meteorological conditions leading to air pollution are expected in Petropavlovsk, Kostanay, Atyrau, Almaty, and overnight in Astana on October 30, 2024," the report reads.
The adverse conditions result from a combination of short-term meteorological factors (such as calm weather, light winds, fog, and inversion layers) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the lower atmosphere.
The weather service also released a forecast of hazardous weather for October 30.
"With the passage of atmospheric fronts, precipitation (rain and snow) is expected in most regions, with heavy rain anticipated in western Kazakhstan during the day. Only the southeast will see dry weather. Fog, strong winds, and icy conditions are forecast across northern, northwestern, central, and eastern regions, as well as mountainous areas in the southeast," meteorologists reported.
Meteorologists have presented the long-awaited weather forecast for the upcoming winter of 2024-2025 in Kazakhstan.
