Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet forecasters warned residents of Astana, Almaty and eight other cities.
"On December 26, 2024, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Aktobe, Atyrau, Uralsk, Pavlodar, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Ridder," the report says.
Unfavorable meteorological conditions are a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm, light wind, fog, inversion), which contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the surface layer of atmospheric air.
Earlier, forecasters clarified the weather forecast for winter 2024/2025 in Kazakhstan. It is noted that in general, the winter temperature regime is expected to be within the climatic norm with precipitation exceeding the long-term norm. However, periods with cessation of precipitation and abnormally low air temperatures are not excluded.
