Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet has published a warning on its website for residents of Almaty.
The information concerns the air quality forecast for the upcoming Tuesday.
“Adverse meteorological conditions are expected in the city of Almaty on 10 February,” the statement says.
Adverse meteorological conditions in terms of air pollution are a combination of short-term weather factors (calm, light wind, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the ground layer of the atmosphere.
According to forecasters, partly cloudy and dry weather is expected in Almaty. Fog is possible at times at night and in the morning. The wind will be south-easterly, shifting to south-westerly at 3–8 metres per second. Air temperature will range from -1°C to +1°C at night and reach +6…+8°C during the day.
