Kazhydromet issues warning for residents of Astana and Almaty

Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued a warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, and several other cities across the country.

Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued a warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, and several other cities across the country.

"On February 20, 2025, unfavorable meteorological conditions contributing to air pollution are expected in the cities of Pavlodar, Karaganda, Temirtau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Ridder, Aktobe, Almaty, and Astana," the statement reads.

Unfavorable weather conditions involve a combination of short-term meteorological factors, such as calm, light winds, fog, and temperature inversion, which contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the lower layers of the atmosphere.

Previously, Kazhydromet meteorologists released a weather forecast for Kazakhstan on February 20, 21, and 22.
