Kazhydromet issues warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, and ten other cities

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet has published a warning on its official website for residents of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, and other cities.

The notice concerns the air quality forecast for the upcoming Wednesday.

“On December 3, adverse meteorological conditions are expected in the cities of Aktobe, Almaty, Shymkent, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Temirtau, and during the night in the cities of Astana, Petropavlovsk, and Kostanay,” the statement said.

Adverse meteorological conditions related to air pollution refer to a combination of short-term weather factors (calm, light wind, fog, temperature inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the surface layer of the atmosphere.
