Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued a warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, and several other cities across the country.
"On April 2, 2025, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Temirtau, Almaty, and Astana," the statement read.
Such conditions occur due to a combination of short-term meteorological factors—calm weather, light winds, fog, and temperature inversions—that contribute to the accumulation of pollutants in the lower atmosphere.
Weather in Astana
Partly cloudy, no precipitation. Fog and icy conditions overnight and in the morning. Southwest wind 2-7 m/s. Temperature: -3 to -1°C at night, 12 to 14°C during the day.
Weather in Almaty
Partly cloudy, no precipitation. East wind 3-8 m/s. Temperature: 4 to 6°C at night, 15 to 17°C during the day.
