Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued an air pollution warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, and several other cities across Kazakhstan.
"On March 26, 2025, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Aktobe, Astana, Almaty, and Kostanay," the statement said.
Such conditions arise due to a combination of short-term meteorological factors—including calm winds, light breezes, fog, and temperature inversions—that contribute to the accumulation of pollutants in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
Astana weather forecast
The capital will see partly cloudy skies with no precipitation. Southeastern winds will blow at 2-7 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will drop to -10 to -12°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to 1-3°C.
Almaty weather forecast
The city will experience partly cloudy weather with no precipitation. Light fog is expected at night. Northeastern winds will reach 3-8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from -3 to -5°C, while daytime temperatures will warm up to 8-10°C.
Earlier, forecasters predicted a drop in temperatures across the country in the coming days.
