Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued an air pollution warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, and several other cities across Kazakhstan.

Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued an air pollution warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, and several other cities across Kazakhstan.

"On November 19, 2024, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Temirtau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Ridder, Atyrau, Aktobe, Almaty, and Astana," the report says.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions are a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm, light wind, fog, inversion), which contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the surface layer of atmospheric air.

Earlier, forecasters clarified the weather forecast for the upcoming winter 2024/2025 in Kazakhstan.
