Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet has once again issued a warning for residents of Astana and Almaty.
"On July 2, 2025, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in the cities of Zhezkazgan and Almaty, and at night in the city of Astana," the statement said.
It is worth noting that on July 1, meteorologists had already warned residents of Astana and Almaty about adverse weather conditions.
Unfavorable meteorological conditions are a combination of short-term weather factors (calm, weak winds, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the surface layer of the atmosphere.
Inversion is a weather phenomenon in which warm air settles above cooler air, essentially "trapping" it. Normally, warm air near the ground rises, carrying away pollutants. But during an inversion, the cold air is locked below along with all the exhaust, dust, and smoke. As a result, pollution accumulates near the ground, especially in cities.

On July 2, Astana will have partly cloudy skies with no precipitation. Southern winds at 2–7 m/s at night and 7–12 m/s during the day. Nighttime temperatures will be +14…+16°C, and daytime +30…+32°C.
Avoid prolonged sun exposure at midday and remember to stay hydrated.
Weather in Almaty
On July 2, Almaty will have partly cloudy skies and no precipitation. Northern wind at 3–8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will be +19…+21°C, and daytime +32…+34°C.
