Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Defense will be reorganized with the transfer of functions and powers of the Ministry of Industry and Construction in a number of areas in Kazakhstan. The corresponding decree of the President dated February 13, 2025, was published on the website of the information and legal system of regulatory legal acts.
As follows from the document, the Ministry of Defense will be reorganized with the transfer of functions and powers of the Ministry of Industry and Construction in the areas of:
- Formation, management, and intersectoral coordination of the state defense order;
- Implementation of military-technical cooperation;
- Pricing of military goods (products), dual-use goods (products), military works, and military services within the framework of the state defense order.
"To determine the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan as the legal successor of the rights and obligations of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the transferred functions and powers," the text of the decree says.
The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan is instructed, in agreement with the Presidential Administration, to ensure the redistribution of the staffing levels of the reorganized state bodies and the organizations subordinate to them, as well as to take other measures to implement the decree. Control over its implementation is assigned to the Presidential Administration.
Earlier, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev set tasks for the Ministry of Defense.
