Kazakhstan’s external trade statistics

Kazakhstan’s external trade turnover in 2010 grew by ¼ as compared to 2009, reaching $89 billion. Kazakhstan’s exports grew by 37%, reaching $60 billion, with processed exports (fabricated metals, accumulator units, bearings and other spare parts for machinery, to name just a few) accounting for $16 billion. The share of net exports in the GDP in 2010 made up 20%, Profinance.kz quoted a Kaznex Invest press-release issued today, May 5. . What concerns the geographic coverage, Kazakhstan sent its processed exports to 107 countries. 20 countries accounted for 90% of the volume. China, Italy, France, Netherlands, Austria, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Romania, Switzerland were among the importers. Major consumers of Kazakhstan’s processed exports were Russia and China: 40% of all the non-commodities exports were sent to these two countries. Kaznex Invest, the National Agency for Export and Investment, is mostly dedicated to promoting non-resource exports and aiding foreign investors.
